Our Mission and Goals

At its core, CSDSA is driven by the vision of a resilient and equitable future. It advocates for integrating sustainability principles into daily life through progressive, inclusive, and responsible approaches. By empowering individuals and communities, the Centre aims to contribute to building a world where development harmonizes with environmental conservation, social equity, and economic prosperity.

CSDSA’s activities encompass research, planning, and educational projects, as well as social and cultural initiatives aimed at raising public awareness and encouraging action on sustainability issues. The Centre prioritizes creating and sharing knowledge, forming partnerships with like-minded entities, and participating in national and international networks and projects to advance its mission. By offering expert insights, facilitating dialogue, and driving community engagement, CSDSA aims to amplify the impact of its efforts and promote the best sustainability models and practices.

Our Experience

CSDSA brings together professionals with expertise across diverse fields, including social and economic development, spatial planning, regional analyses, environmental and climate action, technology, education, culture, and civil society. This interdisciplinary configuration enables the Centre to address complex sustainability challenges with innovative and collaborative solutions. Although newly established, by leveraging the collective experience of its team – spanning academia, NGOs, and public and private sectors – CSDSA builds on a foundation of expertise to deliver impactful projects and initiatives.

The Centre’s team has an extensive track record of involvement in European programs such as Horizon, EIT, Erasmus, ESPON, and COST. Those projects covered diverse fields like spatial planning, regional development, just transition, urban regeneration, sustainability research, education and capacity building, culture and arts. They grew CSDSA staff’s capacity to foster collaboration between science, policy, and business, promoting sustainable practices and models that benefit both communities and ecosystems.
